Penetrating road movie about contemporary youth culture. Seeing the adventures of Star and her companions, I involuntarily had to think back with some nostalgia now and then to the comparable phase in my own life, although it is far behind me and has since been colored more beautifully by the ravages of time than it was in the past. was reality. For myself I come to the conclusion that — judging by this film and apart from the music — in the camaraderie between young people, not that much has changed over the years (but I am no expert and I could be wrong of course ). The only thing I missed a bit in this film is social engagement.
Be that as it may, I thoroughly enjoyed this high-spirited, entertaining film about young people who are on their way to adulthood in their own way. Appealing and fresh compared to countless high school films and other trivial nonsense about young people, flooding the film market.
finally for the (h) honest role of Sasha Lane, who in my opinion can look back on a convincing debut.

It feels like im fucking America..
Sasha Lane and Shia Labeouf are a wonderful combination to watch, especially from Labeouf I did not expect this kind of role and it really surprised me. Really smiling at the scenes where they go out together to sell magazines! Story-wise, it's not a very complicated film, but the way this is portrayed is really a wonderful style, close to it and not so slick. ATMOSPHERE is the right word for this film, you can feel almost everything, the freedom, the atmosphere of friends among themselves, sadness, love.. The soundtrack is not quite my style, but all the songs are perfectly interwoven in the film and you sing them all at once, very well done!
