Aan het Eind van de Aspergetijd plot

Aggie is a hairdresser, the only one, in a small village community in the asparagus region, where everything revolves around the annual asparagus harvest. Her daughter Sophie, who is also a hairdresser, assists her and dreams of having her own hair salon. Sophie regularly brings a large pot of soup to the mainly Polish asparagus pickers. She falls in love with one of them. Kitty, Aggie's eldest sister, is married to Wim, the local GP and visits the hair salon regularly. One day the youngest sister Francien comes to visit unexpectedly. Francien is an actress in Amsterdam. That visit is different than everyone expected.
