When their mother dies, farm sons Jake (Tim Blake Nelson) and Josh (David Arquette) realize they need a woman in their lives. They decide to look for her in Russia. The eldest son Jake has prepared the trip very carefully - the woman must above all be nice and reliable and certainly not a superficial party animal. But Josh just can't choose from all those women. He spends all their hard-earned money on booze, parties and fur coats. The English journalist Angela is called in by Jake to act as an interpreter.
