Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures plot
New York photographer Robert Mapplethorpe made portraits and flower still lifes, but is above all known for his unvarnished nude studies of black male bodies and gay SM scenes. In "Look at the Pictures", an agitated American senator in 1989 protested the retrospective exhibition of the pioneering pioneer who had just died of AIDS. The director duo gained access to the archives and let 'Maypo' tell its story chronologically through interviews and a found audio diary.
