Grande Fausto, II plot
The story is about Fausto Coppi (Sergio Castelliati) the Italian cyclist who was already a legend during his lifetime. He won the Tour of Italy five times, the Tour de France twice and became world champion on the road in 1953. The film begins by showing how much effort Coppi had to go to to convince his humble family (of farmers) that a cycling career lay ahead of him. That world championship was a dramatic turning point in his life.
