Brian Eisch is an American army sergeant returning from a mission from Afghanistan due to his injuries. We see how Eisch, whose leg has to be amputated, struggles with the relationship between him, his wife and his two children, whom we see growing up over a period of ten years. Carefully mapped out is how the mutual family bond is becoming increasingly complex due to Eisch's mental problems.
