Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret plot

"There is one single industry destroying the planet more than any other. But no one wants to talk about it."

The world's largest environmental organizations are unable to deal with the most destructive force threatening our planet today. Shockingly, yet humorously, this documentary follows the journey of an aspiring environmentalist as he frantically searches for the real solution to the most pressing environmental problems.

Yes, if things continue like this on this planet it will just, simply… not be good. As long as people don't notice anything or little of it at the moment and they can continue living in their safe bubble, it will remain largely ignored. It is and remains an interesting discussion and a difficult topic. Even just once or twice a week to just stop eating meat is too much to ask for many selfish people. As long as they get it right. I also often think that people are too stupid to understand certain things and that their brains don't reach further. So everything is subconsciously pressed into every personal cover-up.

Anyway. There are too many people on Earth, that's the biggest problem. There are also more and more people, so in terms of meat, milk and eggs, among other things, it is impossible to compete with livestock. Or everyone should suddenly become aware of everything and no longer care about the time that they themselves are no longer there. Yes haha. So no. You can still make everyone drive electrically, make fossil fuels disappear and remove all nuclear power stations .. it makes no sense as long as everyone continues to eat meat like now. That 3 liter, 6 cylinder diesel in front of the door suddenly doesn't feel so shocking anymore.

Nice, interesting documentary. However, they often repeat the same thing. What is told is of course good, but at the end of the ride you also know it. I can't handle a lot of numbers that are thrown around. But I think it's important that everyone becomes more aware of these kinds of things. So as far as I'm concerned, compliments to the makers for bringing this to light. The fact that even large environmental organizations ignore this shows what kind of a capitalist and selfish society we live in. I don't want to be a hypocrite, because I also like beautiful things and good food. But the awareness also ensures that I increasingly take these important things into account.

There are ample objections to 'Cowspiracy': the kitschy American style, the ego-tripping of self-proclaimed poster boy Kip Andersen, the emphatically pedantic nature of the voice-over , the total lack of aesthetic vision...and yet. Nevertheless, the film has had an impact worldwide. Perhaps because of the low-threshold set-up: a guy in shorts and flip-flops decides to turn his life around, until he discovers a gigantic 'conspiracy'. Tintin for the skateboarding generation, something like that?

Anyway: it works. Kip Andersen's questions are the right ones, there's hardly a pin in his argument, and the conclusion is so simple that spectators can't afford to ignore the makers' appeal.

Go vegan, well. I'll keep chewing on that for a while...

3*
