Children of the Enemy plot

Grandfather Patricio Galvez has seven grandchildren in IS detention camp al-Hol. His daughter Amanda married a Swedish ISIS terrorist. In 2014 they fought for a caliphate in Syria and both were killed in 2019. Their seven young children have since been interned in al-Hol detention camp as 'Children of the Enemy'. The Swedish authorities show little interest in freeing them. Grandfather Patricio travels to the border region of Syria, hoping to rescue his malnourished and ailing grandchildren and bring them to Sweden. Lonely, frustrating months follow, in which Patricio ends up in a complex and confusing process.
