Tricky biography about porn king John Holmes with his 12 inches in his pants. Boogie Nights was able to perfectly sketch an autobiography about him, but Wonderland is just rushed and time frames are constantly being played around and everything is told from an interrogation room to keep things exciting or cool. The acting, and especially Val Kilmer as John Holmes, was relatively good, the editing went through with it, certain 70's music here and there were also well in place, but those tunes during the so-called action scenes seemed to be from a RTL 4 movie to be borrowed.
Unfortunately just not good.

Good film about a massacre in which four people are killed. Based on a true true story involving porn star John Holmes. Entertainingly told due to a decent pace and flashbacks from different perspectives. Val Kilmer is perfectly cast as John Holmes.

Pretty nice crime story, based on true facts. Initially a bit of doubt about Kilmer and whether he is doing quite reasonably well or whether another actor might have done this better. Further on, the film develops in a fairly interesting underworld event with various parties trying to screw each other, robbery and not too economical to kill each other. All with Holmes at the center. A pretty nice cat and mouse game arises with different stories from different points of view, who has patched things up and is lying to each other?
Excellent roles by Josh Lucas and Dylan Mcdermot, among others. Good movie, but nothing more than that.
