Tough. The film is mega intense and even tends towards Srpski Film (Film, 2010) - MovieMeter.nl; slightly.

Biggest plus is the acting of Olaf Ait Tami and Mohammed Azaay. This must be the definitive breakthrough for Olaf. Great.

The danger of these kinds of films is indeed that thin line between telling a story and glorifying the actions. In my opinion, this film leans completely unintentionally towards glorification. Why do I think that? Actually for exactly the same reason as the user above me. During some absurdly intense scenes I heard some groups around me laughing. Of course the maker of the film can't do much about that, but by possibly putting even more emphasis on the disastrous effects of this environment, you could have prevented/reduced this. Difficult to put into words, but if you've seen the film yourself you might understand better what I mean.

Positives are the shots and here and there the good acting. In any case, I left the theater in complete shock. Respect for all the women in this film who were able to do this.

It's difficult to give hard compliments for that, considering that it's unfortunately the daily reality for 1000s of women.

What landed a bit wrong with me:

At the end of the film - after credits - there is a call for more awareness but in my opinion this is not really well taken up. The awareness is not directly intended for these practices and you are not sponsoring a good cause by means of the QR code, no, the QR code is to buy extra tickets. Phew.. completely missed the mark.

Hats off to Cyriel Gus and the other makers of this film!

In my opinion, the actor mentioned above qualifies for the title (this is a compliment from me):

'Denzel Washington of the Low Countries'.

Then I would like to say: how ashamed I am to be a human being (read: MAN) after watching it.

Although I realize that I am essentially no better than the sociopaths in this film, because I too (like everyone else) have my sins and demons.

I'm looking forward to part 2, if it happens (they're already at half of their desired audience).

PS: Are you allergic to street language?

Then don't go!

A very big advantage of that film is that you can hardly or not at all understand those people. And you don't want that at all.

Subtitles? No, never mind.

A sensible person doesn't go to the cinema for this. You know in advance exactly what to expect in such a hall. Exactly as described earlier in the reviews.

"But that is unfortunately the problem in today's woke society that tolerates this or even worse ignores it" as someone described here, Indeed yes, agreed.

The 6 euros I paid at Pathe-Thuis could have been better spent elsewhere.

Turned the movie off after about 15 minutes. Literally getting sick from all the backward street language and behavior of those people.
