Quite an entertaining Norwegian-made revenge film in which Moland clearly eyed American cinema to develop his screenplay and plot. Films in vast snow landscapes are not so common in the film world and just like Wind River or Fargo, for example, this location always adds something. On the one hand the splendor of nature, but also on the other hand the emptiness and loneliness of the few residents.

Lots of violence in this movie with lots of bloodshed. It's nice to frame every dead person with the credits "in memoriam". But I wouldn't describe the film as humorous, except for the predictable mistakes in naming nationalities (a Japanese for a Chinese or a Serb for an Albanian). Oh yes, the relationship problems between clan boss Greven and Marit were also amusing. The nice thing about the plot is that in addition to the issues between father Nils and the local mafia, a third party also comes to stir the pot, namely the Serbian mafia. It keeps the momentum going in the film and made me close my eyes to the rather simple kills of the often not too bright criminals.

Skarsgard did an excellent job and always nice to see Bruno Ganz at work. Successful movie!

Snowplow Nils Dickman [Stellan Skarsgård] has just received an award for his important work when his son is the victim of a liquidation. Nils does not let that sit on him, he decides to track down the perpetrator and take a blood revenge. But in doing so, he becomes entangled in the battle between mob bosses 'Papa' Popovic [Bruno Ganz] and Ole 'Greven' Forsby [Pål Sverre Hagen] for whom retaliation seems to stop only after the last man has fallen. A somewhat strange basis for a comedy and the accumulation of gory settlements quickly starts to have a dull effect, but Hagen and Ganz in particular milk the comedy to the limit in this bizarre, yet entertaining, pitch-black crime comedy with a crazy final chord.

Masterpiece: humor, suspense, drama, crime... a little bit of everything. And that with a pretty thick cast. Also nice to see Bruno Ganz again. Downside for the predictability, but that didn't spoil the fun at all. The really good jokes predominated for me. Scandinavian topper!
