This really is a movie to watch with mates over a pint of beer, which I did. Otherwise I would never set this up myself. But all in all, we had a good time and had a good laugh every now and then. I like this kind of humor: over the top and a bit vulgar. It doesn't always have to be intelligent humor. This works equally well.

Adam 'Al Pacino' Sandler (in this movie) has a lovely accent which just makes it funnier. Some people don't see that but humor is subjective. So if you like unrealistic shit that sometimes gets loose and vulgar statements that sometimes go wild then this is your thing.

Although Sandler is a somewhat boring actor where all the types he plays are the same, he has put this role well this time.

I would say the humor film of 2008. Lots of funny and sometimes very funny parts. This is quite unique in this genre. Of course you have to like this kind of humor.

If you can divide a film into a beginning, middle and end, the ending was less. Nevertheless, a humorous film.

An intriguing title, all the more so because I had no idea who or what was behind it – until I discovered it was a film starring – or rather around – Adam Sandler, which shriveled my enthusiasm as much as [ spoiler]Zohan's erection when he found out how it works with "the one". I started it anyway, and although the film is mercilessly bland and contains an unimaginable amount of corny sex jokes, after a while I couldn't help but surrender to it. Sandler's energy, the plot that may be paper thin but still doesn't give a shit, John Turturro's cheerful counterplay, the actually fairly high number of jokes that didn't make me cringe, but at least made me smile (though that's often not for the humor but for Sandler's shamelessness), and last but not least the elephant-in-a-porcelain approach to such a thorny subject as the Israel-Palestine conflict jointly made this a very tasty and surprisingly enjoyable film. If you think You don't mess with the Zohan is a terrible movie, you probably can't stand Adam Sandler either, but I watch it myself after Punch-drunk love, Funny people and this film (and after Click) with different eyes.
