Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic... and so am I!

Bob's favorite poem. Great, I laughed myself to death! Bill Murray's role is simply masterful. Had a good time with this movie. It gets more and more unbelievable at some point, but the occasionally hilarious moments are great fun and ensure that the unbelievability isn't bad. Too bad it gets a bit monotonous at some point, but Murray's role is truly brilliant. Class actor! This is a very nice intermission.

Ugh.

I was curious what Oz would do with a live action movie, apparently no success. Though I didn't exactly see Oz's hand in this either. More of a mix between Groundhog Day and Dennis the Menace. Two very annoying movies.

Murray has two different faces as an actor. Nowadays I can chew him as a dry ass, but in his older form I rarely find him to enjoy. He's just bloody boring here. And I don't mean the role itself, but the interpretation. Dreyfuss can't save it either. There is a lack of chemistry between the two which only makes the already lame jokes more annoying.

The whole plot (of course that family does like him and of course Dreyfuss only gets more irritated - hence the link with Dennis the Menace) is very irritating, although that is partly the result of the unpleasant jokes and failed characters. You don't have to expect anything in terms of audiovisual play, but that was already clear to me beforehand.

No, a lot of irritation, annoying characters and stupid jokes. A dragon of a comedy and a good reminder that I better ignore those old Murray films.

Standard comedy with a funny Bill Murray who gets the blood out of your fingernails. What about Bob? is a film that plays on the patience of a person. How long can you keep acting normal to someone that drives you crazy? Director Frank Oz shows in a comical way how a famous psychiatrist slowly becomes crazy about his patient. The inability becomes more and more urgent: you can't get rid of that guy. What about Bob? I think it's a bit of a mix of the films Groundhog Day and Rain Man.

Bill Murray does exactly what I've come to expect from him: play a funny dry ass. In the role of Bob, he does exactly what is expected of him. You can shoot him at certain times. So he plays convincingly enough. Richard Dreyfuss even surpasses Murray. It's pretty funny to watch his character slowly go from civilized to insane. Messrs Dreyfuss and Murray have a nice click.

In terms of content, What about Bob? unfortunately little to offer. The wafer-thin story barely stands up. Also some jokes are not successful. Especially the interaction with Bob and the family of Dr. Marvin is boring and cliché. I had a good laugh a few times. Especially great to see Dreyfuss reaching boiling point. I think he has some traits of his character Matt Hooper from Jaws.
