Usagi Doroppu plot
Daikichi learns that his recently deceased grandfather had an illegitimate child by an unknown mother. The girl is only six and her name is Rin. Everyone in Daikichi's family sees Rin as a disgrace and wants nothing to do with her. Daikichi, annoyed by the attitude of his relatives, decides to raise Rin himself, even though he is still single and has no parenting experience at all.
