Twins always found quite entertaining. It was a period when Schwarzenegger took a comical tack with "Junior" and "Kindergarten cop" as well. This Twins falls in between for me, not quite as good - if relative - than Kindergarten cop, but definitely better than the flop Junior. Especially the interplay with Danny DeVito is great. You can hardly imagine bigger opposites physically unless it had to have been Pesci.

The plot really makes no sense, but it is and remains entertaining. The action/crime is only poor, then I found the comical and sweet romantic part "more interesting". Cheerful film in which you face a mindless evening. Arnie is still Arnie, no matter how good or bad you think he's acting, even that's a quality. The ending is again very sweet, but that is not so surprising. Charming, fun and just a cozy typical nineties comedy.

Watched because I wanted a typical 80s comedy and I got it. I have fond memories of films from that time, even though I didn't experience the decade in question. Comedies from that era often have a charming, relaxed atmosphere. Also, it seems, Twins doesn't have to make too much effort to be funny on several occasions.

This is a friendly video. Of course it's not all that much, but I did have a nice evening. Arnold Schwarzenegger is perfectly cast as the somewhat unworldly good guy and Danny DeVito is a nice opposite, who gets a predictable 'change of heart' halfway through. The unlikely duo played together very nicely. Schwarzenegger in particular made sure that I had to laugh out loud a number of times, although he didn't have to do much more than respond to something a bit incomprehensible with a grin. The film is brimming with fun scenes, including Julius' first time driving a car and the scenes at the motel and disco. This makes you inclined to forgive the film's mediocre (and also not so interesting) crime plot. The dryly funny ending is the icing on the cake.

The film offered me exactly what I needed at the time, so I was satisfied. Definitely not a high-flyer, but very pleasant mind-to-zero entertainment. I wonder if the sequel will actually come out. No idea if it would work, but if the original cast returns, I'll be thrilled.

3*

Mom yes.

Not really funny. There are few really funny situations. The humor has to come from Arnold Schwarzenegger who plays fantastic here. The eighties were really a glory period for him, in which he was simply comic gold. How he parades around here with his big suit jacket and shorts is a successful joke in itself. Placed in a very eighties-like atmosphere full of tsjingel tsjangel music, Ivan Reitman can do little wrong. It's a shame he doesn't make more of it.
