Jack NIcholson in one of his best roles! Nice movie to watch again. The appetizing sights of Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon and (if I ever say it again) Cher are also worth mentioning. Nice play takes place here between them and Nicholson. From a homely atmosphere you are sucked into the extravagant adventure. So it's a great party when the devil makes his appearance in Eastwick and what you get is a beautiful, modern version of a witches' sabbath. Van Horne takes over people beautifully and fortunately there is the hysterical Christian woman with whom a lot of bad things happen. Her outburst at the church was fantastic, as was the moment the ladies turn against Nicholson. A wonderful comedy. Only scenes like those on the tennis court should have been omitted.

In my memory this was an entertaining Nicholson movie, but the review was very disappointing. What a bland affair, where the tennis match in which Pfeiffer hits the ball with her ass is the absolute low point. Nicholson is still nice in his own right, but the rest of the movie is so bad that even he can't stop me from giving the minimum rating. 0.5*.

Chunk of youth sentiment that I wanted to see again and that's how it happened. A lot came up again, was also disappointing, but it was still fun.

The dull life of the three single ladies Suky, Jane and Alex is quite shaken up with the arrival of the mysterious Mr Daryll van Horne who turns the lives of the three quite upside down and as the saying goes 'be carefull what you wish for'. they get much more than desired. The first phase where Daryl takes over the ladies one by one has both good and bad moments. He plays them well, but up to and including the phase when they finally fall for him and have the party with the dancing between the balloons, very little happens and there isn't much to it, just say that it is all a bit disappointing.

But luckily there is a turning point at the hour, especially when the battle with Felicia Alden erupts and the allegations against the three ladies are not off the air. The hocus pocus and battle that breaks out between all parties involved can then be called very entertaining up to and including the final. The scene in the church is strong anyway and the stream of cherry pits is hilarious. Pfeiffer is of course a picture, Nicholson of course strong as Daryl van Horne, but don't polish Veronica Cartwright either. And despite the disappointing first hour, the film picks up fine in the second phase and thus scores a sufficient. I think a 3.5 is too much, I would say the actual score is 3.2, so rounded down I make it a 3.
