Ethan, Isaac and Chris have been friends since childhood and have a reunion every Christmas Eve, a night of debauchery and hilarity. A rather rude comedy about 3 friends who want to celebrate their Christmas tradition together for the last time. A film led by a batch of drugs with the character of Seth Rogen, who thus somewhat saves the film. I found the characters of Gordon-Levitt and Mackie only mediocre and I also didn't like the many supporting roles, with the exception of the supporting role of Michael Shannon. The film is less fun than I expected, because the many bland and flat humor could not fully entertain me. As a result, I started to get bored fairly quickly and there have been few moments where I could laugh or just have a smile on my face. For me, The Night Before is not a keeper for the traditional holidays.

First time seen in 2015 and wasn't blown away then. Now I have seen it again six years later and it has been much better for me. What a mood can do for the experience of a movie. The assembled cast is fantastic. It seems as if every actor from the stoner comedy genre passes by. Illana Glazer from Broad City as a horny grinch, just genius. Only Danny McBride and Craig Robinson were missing to complete the party. Seth Rogen plays that drugged role rock, very realistic actually. Not as strong as Pineapple Express or Superbad, but close.
