"Meet Larry Hubbard …lonely guy"
Larry (Steve Martin) is a writer for a greeting card company. One day he loses his girlfriend, house and eventually his job; he becomes the lonely guy, the lonely man. When Larry is on the street with his suitcases, he meets Warren (Charles Grodin), also a lonely man. He is delighted to discover that he is not alone in New York. Lonely men appear to recognize each other and offer advice and support. Larry writes a Lonely Guy Guide and there is even a shop for lonely people where they can rent cardboard friends for example.
