The Inbetweeners Movie plot

"Out of school. Out of their league."

Pretty okay.

I've never seen the series, but it doesn't really matter that much. The characters are thick and even the short introduction at the beginning is hardly necessary. Each character has to fulfill his role within the film, there is not much confusion. In addition, the story is also almost completely self-contained, only an old romance is taken over from the series.

This type of holiday seems like a complete nightmare to me, it's okay if it turns out the same for the four inbetweeners. All nice and hip and wild, but the reality is often a lot less slick. The humor is fairly crude, but that too seems to be more part of the clichés that represent certain characters than it really aims for that.

The British character and four funny actors is what gives this film its flair. It's a fairly simple comedy with some hit/miss jokes and a familiar story, but in the end it has just enough charm to last a whole playing time. It is certainly not an extremely memorable film, but doable for once.

Essentially, all those high school movies look alike. They are usually about a group of nerds, who are looking for drink and sex. I was hoping this holiday movie would be the exception to the rule as it's British-made, but none of that. The film is all as stupid and vulgar as the rest. What a bagger…
