A very bad movie on all fronts. The film has no suspense, no captivating story and not even a humour. An occasional chuckle at certain scenes, but that was the max. Most horror comedies aren't very strong and I don't expect much from them. Still, these films can amuse me to a certain extent. However, this was not successful.
A disappointment for a zombie fanatic. 1 star *

What a downer. Of course I don't have too high expectations when it comes to the story. But the plot of The Dead Don't Die is just as messy as the dismembered bodies that pass by from time to time. In addition, the excruciatingly slow build-up and bland I-have-read-the-script-completely- meta jokes ensure that the sparse giggles are quite understated. No, as far as I'm concerned, this film should certainly not be mentioned in the same breath as Zombieland, Shaun Of The Dead and Planet Terror.
