Nice.

Dramady, but not from an indie perspective. That's nice once in a while. Morrison makes it more of a cheerful film, with a dash of dreaminess. Thought it was a nice variation on the somewhat depressing dramady cliché that has been fairly common in recent years.

Sun Dogs is a good-natured and sweet film, but at the same time also a film that does not aim too high. The acting is good (although with Angarano you get the feeling that Sam Rockwell was not available for the role), the film looks neat and the humor, although not too sharp, is fun and touching.

The film doesn't take too long either, the ending is nice and despite the fact that not too much happens, there is nothing wrong with the pace. But there are no outliers either. It swirls around a bit, with a very small peak now and then and then it's just done. But Morrison certainly deserves another chance, although next time it may be with just a little more conviction in his own abilities.

Quiet film about a boy with a lot of imagination and a mental disability. Sometimes funny, never hilarious, but touching. Great actors and direction that keeps you watching while the film ripples on. The moral of the story: people need purpose in life.

Good.

Nice movie. Cheerful, light and also smoothly told. In her directorial debut, Jennifer Morrison mainly provides a warm film, also visually. Here and there it could have been a bit spicier, a bit sharper or more cynical. The end product now is mainly one of a jolly, mentally handicapped autistic person who happily walks through the film with all his imagination. Every now and then there is a small portion of slightly absurd humor, but Morrison clearly opts for a touching and sympathetic film. And she actually succeeds quite well at that.
