National Lampoon's European Vacation plot

"For over two thousand years, Europe has survived many great disasters. Now for the real test. Chevy Chase & his family are coming from America!"

The Griswold family from Chicago unexpectedly wins a quiz on American television and gets a fourteen-day trip to Europe, with all the trimmings. Father Clark is overjoyed. Moreover, he wants to use this unique opportunity to visit his family in Germany. Audrey and Rusty are less enthusiastic. She refuses to leave her boyfriend and is also afraid of gaining weight. He doesn't feel like wiping all the museums and sights. When push comes to shove, Audrey and Rusty pack their bags anyway. Clark convinced them that it will be an unforgettable experience. However, he didn't say a word too much...

The Griswold family is going on holiday again. This time Europe is being made unsafe. Full of hilarious situations in Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy. Weird moments when Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase who plays his role again very nicely) goes wrong driving, the whole family is put to shame by a waiter in France for not knowing the language and a hilarious chase after a brawl at the Oktoberfest (Or something what it looks like). A film brimming with humour, it said faintly, which entertains in part due to Chase's enthusiasm, but falls short of the first National Lampoon's Vacation. At least a lot more fun than the Christmas movies.

America's most annoying family is back. This time they won a trip to Europe in a TV show and will visit London, Paris, Germany and Rome. Take cover! Fumbling along the way, they tick off the landmarks on their journey. That produces a cascade of dated and bland humor that you can see from afar, such as the camera that keeps running when father and mother Griswold have sex . There was no doubt that this joke would still be used. I thought the best was everything that took place in Germany. That "family visit" (Who the hell were these guys?) and the beer fests where Clark is asked to participate in local costume.
Less than the first movie and after 90 minutes you're done with all this nonsense.
