Still a nice movie with a nice story.

There is good acting.

The comedic parts are fine too.

3.5 star

Reasonable comedy with a nice story. Furthermore, a very nice role by Lisa Kudrow, can't stand her but I really liked her here. Love how she kept getting into bed with I mean her nephew to get things. The role of John Travolta was also quite fun. Because of the nice role of Lisa Kudrow I bought it on DVD, but now I don't have the movie anymore I think I sold it or just threw it away.

Nora Ephorn has some nice movies to her credit. The combination of her and the star cast leads you to think that not much can go wrong here. Unfortunately, Lucky Numbers is a bland, sometimes even tiresome crime comedy. With his hyperactive character, John Travolta is actually more annoying than fun, but the comic talent of Lisa Kudrow and Ed O'Neill - both of which I normally have quite high - is also hardly used. Fortunately, Bill Pullman knows how to make something of his role, but he is not introduced until late. Towards the climax it gets a little better in almost every way. There is a bit more 'schwung' and the film actually knows how to make you laugh, for example when the trailer tips over. Unfortunately, by then it will be too late to save the film. I don't want to call it bad, but I can't escape the impression that there could have been a lot more to this.

2*
