Le Corniaud plot
"The funniest fraud a fall-guy ever fell for!"
A middle-aged bachelor, Antoine Maréchal, wants to go on holiday with his duckling (2CV) to Italy. However, he is hit by the filthy rich Léopold Saroyan, leaving nothing of his car intact. To make up for it, Saroyan offers Antoine a vacation and is allowed to bring a luxurious Cadillac from Italy to France. Gilded, Antoine begins his journey, unaware that the Cadillac is crammed with gold, drugs and an expensive diamond.

During my long-haul flight with Air France I found this film under the heading classics. A nice surprise.
A real feel-good film from the 'Trente glorieuses', the golden years of France that people long for so much these days. Full of handsome hitchhikers and stupid criminals. As described above, the film also looks beautiful. However, the quality is mixed: some fantastic comedy scenes are interspersed with parts where the director seemed to have lost his way.
Louis de Funès may well be taken out of the atmosphere of old-fashionedness. His timing and facial expressions are amazing. There will probably be a BN ambassador for an item at DWDD

Superb comedy film in which Louis de Funes and Bourvil blast through the film as opponents.
Just the first scene that the Funes destroys Bourvil's 2CV is great!!
The next trip with the Cadillac is hylarious, a really funny topper!
