"Hey, Folks!... I'm back!"
Myron C. 'Lefty' Merrill (James Cagney) is a con artist who co-hosts a dance marathon. It's all set up so that his girlfriend will win the prize money. When his partner disappears during the competition with all the prize money put in, Lefty is forced to collect enough money through a series of scams to pay out the prize money.
