Simon Green is a successful white young man with a cute black girlfriend. Life smiles at him until he decides it's time to meet her parents. Her father is certainly not impressed by a white son-in-law and, moreover, things go wrong for Simon during the visit.

Romantic comedies aren't exactly my genre, but I enjoyed this movie nonetheless. The relationship between Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher was especially funny. Therefore 3 stars.

Not much soup.
A few witty moments do not save well over an hour and a half from this junk. Leading actors Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac do their best, but they aren't gods of comedy either. Certainly Kutcher is rarely funny. Mac still has a handful of scenes.
Like genre contemporaries, this little one also has its moment when it all goes bad for the protagonist(s). Such a drama, such an interlude. This movie really isn't something to watch.

Great rom com. Man visiting his in-laws is a genre in itself, and Guess Who is a successful new chapter. He is a white man and his in-laws are black, but apart from some predictable jokes, little is done about it. The focus is clearly on the suspicious Bernie Mac and the nervous Kutcher, and their interplay makes for the strongest scenes.
Kutcher is terrible at times, but put him up against strong actors or actresses (Mac, Saldana, Scott) and he's going to act a little better himself. Saldana and Scott have a somewhat minor role, but it's all the more clever that they sometimes outshine the men. Guess Who is not a masterpiece, but the energetic and catchy acting has made it an entertaining film.
