Wonderful British comedy. The first half, with all the preparations for the funeral, isn't that great, but once the 'party' is underway, you're in the right place for a torrent of hilarious, typically British humour. Alan Tudyk clearly steals the show as a neat office clerk on 'Valium', but everyone actually does a great job. The ending was also liked. Truly a brilliant film for those who love a good scoop of (black) British humour. I think this film belongs in the hall of fame that also houses Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Keeping up Appearances, The Full Monty and A Fish called Wanda: those of the great British comedies.

Mediocre comedy where I am left with the feeling that there could have been a lot more in it. Actually, only the guy who is tripping is the one who makes the movie worth watching. Maybe you can also add Aemon Targaryen or Peter Vaughan to that because they did it pretty nice too.

The concept of Death at a Funeral is good, but it all remains a bit stiff (which is of course also what a funeral is) but if you do go over the top, then suddenly go over the top. I missed that here. It could be more, it could be about me. Here the brake remains pressed.

I also had the feeling that some jokes were redone when they were lame the first time. Repetition can be fun sometimes, but that was not the case here. Still quite ok-ish to watch once but no more than that.

Reasonable.

I had already seen the remake some time ago, so this was of course no longer very surprising - the more the remake turns out to be a copy. Well, in terms of level it is comparable. I don't think one version is much better or worse than the other.

The most important thing with this kind of play is not to let it drag on for too long. And luckily that doesn't happen. The banalities are never top-notch humor, but the cacophony that eventually becomes when all the misunderstandings come together is amusing enough in itself for a snack.
