Quite entertaining, but not special. The concept is not original in any case, but that does not matter. Some stories were interesting, others less so. Least interesting were the musicians. The best were definitely the 2 chicks, smart dude and fear of contamination.

A number of people get stuck in an elevator on Christmas Eve. It involves multiple groups and multiple elevators. The stories are slightly connected to each other. The film oscillates back and forth.

The film is not very interesting in terms of content. Despite the fact that the lift-sitters are rather outspoken characters, the personal stories and confrontations are quite disappointing. Nobody has much of interest to say. And, although light in tone, the film also fails to provide the dialogues and events with a successful humorous layer.

The film has the allure of a soap-like TV movie, has an obligatory feel-good tone and is quite sentimental and cloying.

What is nice and somewhat daring is that not every elevator scene necessarily has a happy ending.

The acting is mediocre.

With Patrick Stewart on the cover and a concept that has proven successful so often (loose stories that are unexpectedly interwoven, and a large cast) I expected a really nice Christmas movie, but that was a big disappointment. The movie is actually quite boring. The ending is ultimately nice, but for me the movie just keeps going and going and I didn't laugh nearly as much as they promise you. The makers and the actors don't succeed in making you as a viewer really empathize with the characters. This will certainly not be a hit like for example the now classic Love Actually or New Year's Eve, it is even more of a flop.
