Carrie Pilby plot

"Live your life before it passes you by"

The gifted Carrie Pilby graduated from Harvard University at the age of 19. After graduating, she has no idea how to fit in, date, or communicate with people at all. She's convinced that most of the residents of her hometown of New York are sex-obsessed, immoral, and hypocritical, and she doesn't want anything to do with that. As a result, she leads an isolated existence. Her therapist gives her a list of assignments that forces her to let go of her prejudices and move towards a more social life. But how far is Carrie willing to go to fit in?

It is now on Netflix.

Highly recommended if you like feel-good movies. There's a lot in it. Very predictable, but it is usually fast with these kinds of films. There's comedy, romance, drama and more. The acting is good and the atmosphere is good too. As I said, very predictable, but well worked out.

Well, I couldn't do anything with this...

Selected this film together with the Misses and then it should not be too exciting for her. Fortunately, Netflix provides with the tag 'feel good', so we came up with this dramedy. But what a long sitting it became... really nothing was right in my eyes.

Mediocre actors, no sympathetic characters, terrible dialogues, and a rickety storyline that struggled after a poorly developed but predictable ending. Was there really nothing good about this movie? No, not for me. *1.0

Never a fan of titles that refer to the main character, I don't find that very creative. Nevertheless, this is a nice film without much pretensions. I can relate to the main character in a way, but the conclusion she draws, withdrawing from the world, is not mine. In any case, it is interesting to see how she finds herself in the world and learns to deal with the fact that not everyone is perfect. It also helps that she has a good mouth, which ensures the necessary light moments. 3*.
