Cohen makes clever use of the weaknesses of Americans. The humor is often based on interaction with Americans who are initially nice, accommodating, tolerant, etc. etc., but when the proverbial push comes to shove, they suddenly turn. These scenes are sometimes a bit painful but also very funny. The story about his 'dream woman' is to fill the time further.

Unlike many comedies, this one has actually only gotten funnier after many years. The difference; when I saw it in the cinema in 2006 I mainly focused on the one-liners and jokes of Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat. And that while the film is actually much funnier because of the other characters. Cohen as Borat is the declarant and the other figures head into it - often unconsciously. In any case, during the film you regularly wonder who exactly is the over-the-top satirical type. And yes, that wrestling is and remains very memorable.

4 stars.
