Bogus plot

7-year-old Albert lives with his mother Lorraine in a slum in Las Vegas. She works in the circus industry. Albert is also captivated by that world. He tries magic tricks ad nauseam and gets on very well with his mom's colleagues. Returning home one evening, she loses her life in a tragic car accident. Everyone wonders what to do with little Albert. But Albert finds comfort in Bogus, an imaginary playmate who will help him accept his new life.
