A Few Best Men plot

"You are cordially invited to absolute mayhem"

The English boy David wants to get married. This to the dismay of his best friends Tom, Graham and Luke. The orphan David, however, wants nothing more than a family of his own. When he falls in love with the Australian Mia, it seems that his new life has begun. The night before David and Mia's wedding, his friends are determined to give David one last wild night. The next morning, however, they discover Mia's parents' award-winning goat and a bag of cocaine in their room. As the boys try to recall the events of the previous night, they learn that the bag of cocaine belongs to a ruthless drug dealer. When the bag is eaten by Mia's beloved goat, the boys must act quickly so as not to turn their best friend's best day into the worst day.

Crazy boy comedy film about a snap wedding, from the director of the Comedy / Roadmovie film "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994)" .

In this story, vacation lovers David Locking (Xavier Samuel) and Mia Ramme (Laura Brent) get married at the lavish Australian estate of the bride's father. David only gets three friends crazy to fly the smallpox end and that's a good thing. This small group of idiots does more than enough damage with booze, drugs and ill-conceived jokes.

The makers have clearly taken the Comedy film "The Hangover (2009)" as an example and in this mad chaos there are quite a few successful jokes. It is not an unforgettable Comedy film, and the makers do not pretend that for a moment. With Olivia Newton-John (of course known for the Music / Romance film "Grease (1978)", the teen movie crush of director Stephan Elliott , as a mother.

All in all, it was nice to have seen this somewhat bland comedy film.

Mediocre comedy.

Especially in terms of design not too exciting. Wedding where some lousy friends come to screw things up. Of course the other family is well off and the film plays on that contrast. This leads to some reasonable jokes, but also a lot of annoying nonsense.

Fortunately, where the film scores is for the mix between British and Australian humor. Gives the film just that little bit more than the umpteenth American comedy. Although the influence of, for example, a Hangover is hard to ignore here, of course, the interpretation is just a bit funnier.

Fortunately, the film is not too long and it is never boring for a long time. Elliott keeps the atmosphere quite light and it is mainly a number of secondary characters (as is often the case) that bring some life to the brewery. Not really annoying, but it's not really fun either.

2.5*

A Few Best Men which, in my opinion, is far too low in terms of valuations. You get exactly what you expect from it, how different with what thoughts are you going to set up this film? I actually liked him beyond expectations. Nice characters and good humor. All very predictable, but like I said that's part of it. Olivia Newton-John is still a party animal!
