Film about the life of the famous Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. The focus is on the relationship between Vincent and his brother Theo and the role the latter played in Vincent's life and the influence he had on his brother's later success. When the still very young Vincent decides to become a painter, his brother, Theo, tries to support him in every way. This film shows the life story of the two brothers and their relatives, from the beginning of Vincent's painting career to his tragic final period in Auvers sur Oise.
