A New York music journalist investigates the truth about the tragic disappearance of young jazz pianist Tenoria Jr. who disappeared in Buenos Aires in 1976. The mystery of Tenorio's tragic fate leads us through the political and musical history of Latin America in the 1960s and 1970s.

After music journalist Jeff Harris [Jeff Goldblum] wrote an article for the New Yorker about Brazilian music in 2009, he received a lot of sound recordings. As a result, Jeff discovers the music of pianist Tenório Junior, one of the almost forgotten pioneers of samba jazz, who disappeared without a trace in Buenos Aires in 1978. Jeff travels to Rio De Janeiro, the city where Tenório has been making waves since 1959, to speak with friends, family members and colleagues. Partly dramatized, but the interviews are real and animated, partly because that was the only way to show Tenório himself - no footage of him is available. An original angle that, however, does not work in the interviews. The animation is almost as wooden as Jeff Goldblum's voice performance.
