Tekkon Kinkurîto plot

In Treasure Town, orphans Black and White rule the streets through violence and terror. These guys are opposites in every way: Black is the embodiment of everything that is wrong with the city, while White is a dreamer who is barely in touch with the world around him. Together, they are unstoppable as they take on petty thugs, religious fanatics, and violent Yakuza. But when an organization called "Kiddy Kastle" wants to rebuild the city for their own purposes, the boys must do everything they can to save the soul of their city.

my compliments to the director

the details of the city were perfect by the way if the film had been three quarters done it would have struck a chord with me so it was definitely 4.5 stars

In love.

Always a favorite, from the start at a solid 4.5*. In my head I always avoided the full blow because of the story, but now I don't understand that argument anymore. Now increased to a justified 5 *.

Not without flaws; for example, the tempo may be a little faster, it is a bit on the long side and the elusive character of many dialogues or scenes may be a powerful charm of the film; it may sometimes take it just too far. The result is an emotional bond with characters that remains somewhat at a distance.

But there are still five times the positive points. Soundtrack is great, Kuro and Shiro as characters are perfectly attuned to each other (also the imbalance when they are separated), tone is mature with a dosed point of rudeness. The delirious dream sequences are beautiful, both in a nightmarish atmosphere and in a style that deviates from the rest. That voice and design of the Minotaur. Perfect.

The biggest plus is undoubtedly the city. Irresistible in visual decoration, color scheme and details. Really fun when the camera swings through it so gracefully; I don't think there could have been enough scenes. With all the bustle of people and vehicles, Treasure Town is truly a breathing organism of a metropolis. Even the rust and dust fingerboard works perfectly.

Several scenes are among the most beautiful things I've ever seen in animation. The movie as a whole may not be perfect; it scores exceptionally high on aspects such as atmosphere and the craft of animated visuals. 5*
