What a bloody annoying doll! In particular that Joy (Pleasure in Dutch). At first I thought it was Georgina Verbaan, but she does the voice of that other annoying doll. In real life you sometimes come across these kind of positive types who look at everything from the bright side. An intrusive optimism that is rife these days. It gets on my nerves. Also kept thinking that something very bad was about to happen: a parent who dies, a natural disaster, but it stayed with that move. I thought the part in the deep abyss looked spectacular, with elephant Bing Bong that has the same pink-purple striped tail as the Cheshire-Cat and at one point also disappears into thin air. I'm afraid Pixar and I will never be close friends.

Liked it a lot. In terms of brain function, Inside out puts a lot of emphasis on emotions and memory, ie the limbic system. Especially the lack of rationality in the control room will have stung Immanuel Kant (and me a little too). In addition, I found it a pity that extremely important brain functions such as motor skills are completely left out of the picture. Some images of machinery in that direction would have been nice anyway. However, the jokes that are made with the memory are to be enjoyed (especially the ones with the suction hose) and the imaginary friend is also a good find. Fortunately, there is also enough variety in the film, because just craziness from the depths of the brain would not have worked. I enjoyed the voices of Lewis Black and Richard Kind precisely because I recognized them. And then the small visual details top it off: Note, for example, that Mom is farsighted based on how her eyes look through the glasses, and Sadness is nearsighted. Without a doubt a very successful print by Pixar.

Another original, well-made animated film from Disney Pixar about the emotions of Riley [[Kaitlyn Dias], a girl who has to deal with the fact that she has to leave her old life behind after moving house. Her thoughts and actions are "controlled" by five basic emotions: Joy [Amy Poehler], sadness [Phyllis Smith], fear [Bill Hader], anger [Lewis Black] and disgust [Mindy Kaling]. When Joy and Sorrow are accidentally sucked out of the cockpit, it's up to the remaining emotions to keep Riley's life running smoothly. But it soon turns out that without Joy and Sorrow, Riley suddenly makes completely different, impulsive decisions that don't benefit her. Joy and Sorrow therefore, despite their mutual contradictions, try to find their way back together so that they can get Riley's life back on track.

A funny, often heartwarming film in which human memory is given shape in an imaginative way. The message about how the combination of positive and negative emotions determines our lives and makes them worthwhile is as valuable as it is entertaining. The animation is top notch, the voice performances are flawless, making this the best Pixar film since Up (2009).
