Just like usual, not a successful Pokemon movie and I haven't seen any either. Don't like or entertain them at all. Gotta say this one was still a bit of fun. That's why it gets another 1.0.

Damn annoying.
The whole tone of the fourth Pokémon movie just blew me away from start to finish. There was something sluggish about it, something nagging about it, and it was unmanageable. It even felt like too childish for kids. I could put the predecessors in perspective somewhat, partly because I used to like the series, but what should be fun about part four escaped me completely. Only the forest had a nice atmosphere here and there, but that's all the good I can get out of it. For nostalgic reasons we watched these Pokémon movies with Dutch voices, but they are so badly spoken here that we switched to English (Japanese is not on the DVDs). I don't want to waste too many words on this, take it from me that nothing is right, but I do want to point out an absurdity. Why is so much time spent on Suicune and his (her?) powers to purify water, only to let the pure water play no part, even in the rescue of Celebi (the most annoying Pokémon yet, by the way)? Why on earth introduce a deus ex machina to save Celebi? Scripts are not written any worse.
1* Fun for kids? Hundreds of better movies for that age group have been made and if they've seen them all and haven't had enough they should grow up before they start this one.
