Yet another rip off from Jones, but with a good wink.

At the time, we only really had these kinds of "mindless" videos. Still a nice pleasant b-picture. Also nice decors with cheesy characters. The story seems fun and adventurous. However, the special effects are very cheap and very bad. But overall I still liked the film quite a bit, so it gets a small 3.0.

The B-movie version of Indiana Jones. Slightly better than King Solomon's Mines (1.5*) but Chamberlain remains a sad actor to watch. Indiana Jones is a hero you love, but you'd rather see Quatermain get eaten by crocodiles. Stone as his whiny walk-along girlfriend isn't much better, but at the time she still had to find her way to good roles, so this is still somewhat forgivable.

The special effects are nothing to look at, especially when they rush through caves in boats. I already saw films from the 50s where the special effects were better than here. While the entire journey to the Lost City actually kept me entertained, it all came to an end for me when they reached the legendary city and a feral Henry Silva appeared on the scene. I also found that barbarian with his horns unbearable. It's best to avoid this movie.
