Well, Robert Downey might not have been very happy with this movie ("It's possibly the worst action movie of all time... I'd rather wake up in jail for a TB test than have to wake up another morning knowing I'm going to the set of US Marshals"), but I think it's a great popcorn movie myself. A nice plot, fast pace, Downey and Snipes perfectly in place, solid action, a great set-piece in the plane, a quite shocking twist when Downey suddenly blows Noah upside down, and above all a wonderful reunion with Sam Gerard and his team. No, indeed not as good as The fugitive, but even after several viewings still better than 90% of the rest in the action genre.

The sequel to The Fugitive. Not Harrison Ford, but Tommy Lee Jones (who won an Oscar for his role in The Fugitive). You do miss the interaction between Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford. Fortunately, the role of Wesley Snipes is different. Where you quickly realized with Ford how his characters were put together, there are more question marks with Snipes. That makes the case a bit more mysterious and does the story well.

But also nice is that the team of the US Marshalls is back from the first movie. Small roles that have barely been worked out, yet recognizable figures. It is not a one-man action by Samuel Gerard (who of course takes the lead), but teamwork.

US Marshalls is less innovative than its predecessor and the tension is less present. But there is enough action and the story is equally well maintained. Fortunately, no 3rd film in the series has been made, so it is not milked out.

Revisited today! Still a really great film full of tension and action, also some quiet moments, but especially the plane crash is spectacular and what comes next is all action.

Also a small twist in the film and good actors.

All in all, a film to watch over and over again!
