Frank Martin is retired and lives in Miami. He now earns his living as a driver for the wealthy Billings family and Frank soon befriends their child Jack. When the boy is kidnapped, Frank decides to take matters into his own hands to get the boy back and keep the FBI out.

A fun sequel with even more hilarious stunts and over-the-top fight scenes and with Jason Statham back in top form, although the fights are not always clear to follow (especially in that boat). The supporting cast lowers the level a bit: the main villain is an unintimidated or stylish Cristiano Ronaldo lookalike, Kate Nauta (a Pink lookalike) can learn a lot from Milla Jovovich (her main characteristic according to Roger Ebert: "for Lola , it's run, mascara, run"), and Jason Flemyng gets far too little to do, but luckily the laconic Inspector Tarconi is back. Entertaining.

Frank Martin [Jason Statham] has a temporary job in Miami as a driver for American dignitary Jefferson Billings [Matthew Modine] and his wife Audrey [Aubrey Valetta], including daily driving their son Jack [Hunter Clary] to and from school. Just before his contract expires, Jack is kidnapped and of course Frank does everything he can to find this kid and wipe the floor with the kidnappers. Leterrier spends too much time on forced attempts to increase sympathy for Frank, which comes at the expense of the pace of this lazy, noisy and therefore rather dull action thriller with a plethora of silly stunts. Some nice fight scenes might keep you awake.
