The Rundown plot
"Bulls, guns, whips, gold and one sacred cat"
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays a bounty hunter who tries to pay off a debt by searching the jungle for someone. He discovers that his target isn't the bad guy he thought he was. Together they decide to go in search of riches in the jungle.

Slightly better than expected.
Although I should have rated Berg's film a bit higher, he hasn't done much wrong yet. There is something rattling about this film left and right, but in the end the positive dominates.
For example, the secondary cast is much better than the main characters. Johnson is a wall but not really very mobile, which makes his fight scenes a bit too static. Scott is actually just annoying the entire movie. Opposite are Dawson, Bremner (hero) and a juicy Walken. They make sure that the film brightens up every now and then.
Story is simple but just serves as a coat rack. The humor didn't appeal to me that much, luckily the light-heartedness of the film did. Everything is presented with a big wink, which leads to some nice, slightly over-the-top moments. A lack in many American action films and it is a clear enrichment here.
It's a shame that the Johnson - Scott duo gets in the way of further fun, because around that and behind it is an even more fun movie hidden. Still, I quite amused myself with this The Rundown, nice and fast and never serious.

A fairly entertaining action-comedy with cool peer Dwayne Johnson, who I don't think was quite used to acting yet. In later films, he really grew in comedic timing. He looks a bit darker in this movie than in more recent movies, I think. Sean William Scott, known for the American Pie films, and the unsurpassed weirdo Christopher Walken are also doing well again. They bring the necessary humor and light-heartedness. With a nice cameo role from Arnold Schwarzenegger, who does indeed seem to pass the baton to Johnson at the beginning of the film. Nice setting in the jungle!

The Rundown a movie with a fun adventure story filled with action and humor. The cast is obviously looking forward to it and doing a great job as well. Great movie that I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
