Mediocre film about a marine who is fired and gets a job in the private sector. In no way an original action thriller, and partly because of this quite predictable. The characters are also rather clichéd and the cast hardly manages to improve on this. A few nice action scenes and it certainly doesn't get boring, but 3.0 stars would be just too much.

Pine can really act. But Tarik Saleh seems to attach great importance to stylism, and to care less about the tension within his film. So there is hardly any. He also manages to tell the simplistic and transparent story here and there still unclear.

There are some really nice scenes. But overall, I find this thriller really boring. Not much happens, and what happens you can see coming far in advance.

James [Chris Pine] unexpectedly loses his Special Forces commission, just when he desperately needs the income from his work. Through the grapevine he is offered a job as a 'contractor', or as a mercenary with the help of a top team (including Ben Foster). Of course it doesn't go as expected and that puts him in direct opposition to Rusty [Kiefer Sutherland]. Wife Brianne [Gillian Jacobs] and cute son Jack [Sander Thomas] obviously don't know anything. Standard metric is boosted by a well-developed main character, convincingly played by Pine, and a strong supporting cast.
