Good film in which a singer is kidnapped by a biker gang. The story is a bit on the simple side, but this is compensated by the smooth and here and there stylish editing. A nice decoration (a kind of mix of the 50s and 80s). Cool characters and cool music. Willem Dafoe does a good job as the bad guy. A narrow 4.0 stars because of the opening and closing numbers.

Particularly beautiful camera work by Andrew Laszlo makes the action scenes in the first hour of this entertaining pulp thriller a feast for the eyes. With bright primary and secondary colors, the story flashes before you, while Willem Dafoe - in one of his first film roles - plays a memorable villain as the leader of a motorcycle gang who disrupts a concert and kidnaps rock singer Ellen Aim [Diane Lane]. Ellen's manager and boyfriend Billy Fish [Rick Moranis] calls on Tom Cody [Michael Paré], a mercenary who is also Ellen's ex-boyfriend. But Tom does nothing for nothing and also finds himself saddled with McCoy [Amy Madigan], a headstrong young lady who is not to be trifled with. It's a pity that the style fades a bit in the last quarter and that the film fizzles out, but for the most part this is sharply edited, beautifully crafted and director Walter Hill ensures his cast's acting matches the light-hearted tone of this amusing film. action thriller. Watch out for Bill Paxton as a bartender with a little too much talk!

Those moments with music and elliptical editing are really fantastic. In any case, the film distinguishes itself by the wonderful soundtrack and to a lesser extent the editing. Also beautifully shot and the weak acting and the wrong dialogues only make it more fun. Despite the music, there is also a Carpenter atmosphere somewhere. Plot is pretty stripped down and could have been done with more but otherwise nice.
