Spooks: The Greater Good plot
When charismatic terrorist Adam Qasim escapes from the MI5 security agency prison during a routine transfer, the head of security, the legendary Harry Pearce, is blamed. Saw this movie a while back and was surprised that there is only 1 page of reviews left. This movie deserves better. Perhaps that will change because the film has recently been released on Netflix.
It must be said that they have gone a bit off track with the slogan 'Mission Impossible meets Bourne', which indicates that they are going to watch a mega block buster. This megalomania certainly does the film no good because people then go to this film with the wrong expectations as a spoiled moviegoer. That's a shame because if you sit down to it without any prejudice, this is really a great if not great film with everything in it with beautiful plot twists. And they also turned out well by using Kit Harrington, among others.
These Spooks films start from the last episodes of the Spooks series of the BBC, which means that you are somewhat deprived of a thorough character development to get into the film, that's true but for me also the only downside. That gap is more than made up for in how the film is further developed in the storyline, making this also good to watch as a standalone film. There are a few illogical things in the film such as transporting a prisoner with only 1 driver but I have forgiven them for that.
The story is exciting, original with a great, surprising, relentless and also dramatic finale. Because you constantly don't know what that old MI5 iron eater Harry Pearce has in his head.
The film has recently been released on Netflix so highly recommended!

mediocre movie
Stumbled upon this film by accident, also understood that it has never been screened on the silver screen. After seeing the film, that is very understandable because this is nothing special.
Although it's all very interesting, it doesn't bring anything innovative and, especially towards the end, it's all far-fetched and unbelievable.
The cast itself is not that bad. Kit Harington, Peter Firth and Jennifer Ehle aren't the big names, but it's not their fault they have characters that lack depth at all.
There are some pretty nice action scenes, but it's just not there.
Small insufficient.
