If you've watched a movie more than 5 times, apparently there's something good about a movie...but then what? The Predator is actually nothing more than a bombastic muscular action movie...that's what I always have such a problem with...why not with this movie? Okay, I saw him for the first time in my primary school days..1989, when movies like Amsterdamned still belonged to my top 5...films that are nice to watch, simple as a beer at the bar..not special, but tasty. .no expensive Whiskey or Wine with many layers to talk about. So is the predator...story is thin, but very exciting and mysteriously made, so story is actually quite good. That atmosphere, that build-up...the iconic comic book characters you could actually make a movie about..the monster, because that's what we can call the predator, looks great, charismatic...the pace of the movie is fast enough not to be long..no useless dialogues and at most a cliche action scene with explosions and a lot of fire, but minimal in the movie...yes, the predator is the chips among the movies....about taste not to argue with, but within the genre a wonderful road movie and the best of its kind that you are always hungry for ... a film that is in your DVD cabinet, but which you still hang out on while zapping on TV. What often annoys me about action movies is useless humor...being cool for the sake of being cool...that is also minimal in this movie...and those timed comments have become classics right away...knock knock... In terms of atmosphere, an absolute high score, which amply overflows the negative aspects, such as the acting or the script... that adventurous jungle atmosphere suits me and every time I see the film again, it feels like playing war on the primary school in the local forest...youth sentiment which has only become more beautiful over the years...

Predator is pure nostalgia. It had been a while since I saw him. Together with Terminator 2 and the content-packed Total Recall, perhaps Arnold's best film. Despite the sequel and the monstrosity Alien vs Predator, this Predator is a classic in its genre. Amazing how this movie also reaches the age of 30. A person is getting old... Clever how the action and visual effects are more than decent and not in the least disturbing, on the contrary.

The build-up of Predator is slow and the tension builds systematically. It takes a while before we catch a glimpse of the Predator, let alone his face. Those infrared images or sound recordings also create an uncomfortable, creepy and, above all, intense feeling. Once the first deaths among the crew of Dutch, there is no escape: they fall like flies. The film is really gaining momentum. A huge contrast with the first part of the film where it is mainly about the tension / gradual build-up. The fine soundtrack is also mysterious and completes the picture.

Although the acting performances are nothing to write home about, there is still a certain connection with the team of Dutch, which also became infectious for the viewer. McTiernan made his name with this movie and did it again with Die Hard and The hunt for Red October.

The waterfall scene and also the scene where the Predator takes off his mask have always stayed with me. Even now, I still consider this one of the highlights of the film. The story is limited, although the idea of a space creature on safari is quite fun. A topper as an action print, hence this top rating.

The predator itself remains awesome too, a ruthless two-and-a-half-foot thoroughbred hunter. In the sequel, some nice gadgets will be added. In short, it remains fun!

When 'Arnie' broke through with his first Terminator movie, a handful of slick action movies followed to milk the formula, such as Commando, Running Man and Raw Deal. This Predator was by far the best and certainly innovative as a crossover between the Rambo films of that time and Alien(s). That is a funny observation because much later the Alien vs. Predator came out. In between, shortly after this Predator, another Predator 2 was released with Danny Glover, known from the Lethal Weapon series from that time, which was set in the city.

The visual effects, including the monster in this Predator, came from the same hand as the effects specialist of the Terminator, namely Stan Winston, who died in 2008.

Very entertaining, well-constructed action film about a ''black-ops'' elite team that follows a mission in the jungle and there they have to deal with a supernatural adversary. I saw it again recently, out of nostalgia, and I still think this is a very good movie.
