Basically this movie has everything I want to see in a Marvel movie: good action, pace, humor, some nice twists (the true nature of Ben Kingsley, the double play of Rebecca Hall, the way Tony saves Pepper's life during the attack on his house), an excellent villain and superb FX – the sex wish in which Tony's house is destroyed is in my opinion one of the best designed CG scenes I've ever seen have seen.

On with my MCU watch-and-rewatch session. Another movie I hadn't seen before, and the movies before that had mixed success, but it turns out that Iron Man is a stable factor. Like the first two Tony Stark movies, this one was pretty fun; I find the action scenes a bit less exciting, but Robert Downey Jr. is entertaining as Iron Man and I like the kind of setting in which the Iron Mans operate. More than the Thors, for example. It's a bit overly long and like I said I don't find the action that interesting, but still a solid contribution to the Marvel universe.

Tony Stark [Robert Downey Jr.] this time clashes with Aldrich Killian [Guy Pearce], who feels betrayed after a brief encounter in the 90s. In addition, a mysterious, untraceable terrorist [(Osama?) Ben Kingsley] is gearing up to put pressure on the already fragile relationship between the US and the Middle East. Pepper Potts [Gwyneth Paltrow] has a better fleshed out role, as does Don Cheadle, and Shane Black manages to find the right balance between action, humor and a touch of romance this time around in this strong sequel starring a more vulnerable Stark, introducing supercomputer JARVIS. [Paul Bettany] and a surprising supporting role from Kingsley.
