Good film in this genre, but with some pros and cons; first and foremost literally and figuratively dark. From the outset, it becomes clear that things are going to get grim with the bad ending hostage situation. After that, the entire movie takes place in the dark. Surprise when Willis is blackmailed in his car by a secretive crime syndicate, while a screaming woman and daughter appear in the rearview mirror.

Also some small blanks such as the attempt to develop a relationship drama between cop Talley and the woman who is about to divorce . It's all a bit superficial but nevertheless the film managed to entertain in the right way and at a few moments it was quite exciting but just not threatening enough; in that respect a little more could be done with the son in the villa.

Hostage².

Average action thriller with Bruce Willis. Although I did have a bit of trouble with his character here. It's a role that Willis suits itself well, but somehow I didn't really believe that someone like that could ever make it to hostage negotiator. A Hollywood freedom we think.

Willis mostly on autopilot, star of the film as far as I'm concerned is Foster. Especially towards the end he knows how to give his role the necessary weight and body. That's necessary, because the film doesn't have that much to offer. The double Hostage situation doesn't bring much extra tension and the little twists are made to be really interesting.

Visually it's solid everywhere, but nothing special, in terms of soundtrack I've even forgotten what they had mounted underneath. In the end, very average in everything. A nice snack if you feel like a hostage flick, but it is absolutely nothing more.

2.5*

Spicy raw action movie. All pretty intense.

Bruce plays well. He doesn't act too tough, but also really shows his fears.

Actually a very negative story, but still well made.

Definitely worth watching!!!
