Will give it a go and round up.

This was just a lot of fun fantasy entertainment. Renner, Arterton & Janssen who feel like it, adequate CGI and a story that is just nice and straightforward.

whatever you do, don't eat the fucking candy.

Oh well, so much on TV lately, I thought I'd take this one again and rate it, and although the film has the prejudice 'easy entertainment', the whole thing struck me in the positive sense as quite fun .

The whole has been given a very smooth jacket with a smoothly dressed Hansel and Gretel and especially the weaponry stands out as very futuristic for that time. Not that this matters much because in the midst of the beautiful make-up job regarding the ladies witches, and what a beautiful ladies there is if you know the real faces, great special effects and further smooth decoration and humor, this feels like a suitable mix . Add to that a simplistic but quite nice track by Zimmer, and Stormare which I always find delicious, and that's the most of it.

I wanted to say at the start that Gemma Arterton in her tight leather pants is probably the biggest reason to watch, but I was still surprised at what the film has more, and that is an entertaining evening of humor and action, with the biggest downsides that the story is frayed very quickly and the film could have been a little longer, and the often chaotically edited fight scenes. But who cares...? Just fun for once.

Wirkola with big money.

As a director, I've always found him a bit better in smaller films that use a more practical approach. He can always score well with that in terms of dryness. Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is a slightly larger production. However, still, like any other Wirkola film, made for entertainment, but of lower quality.

The animated techniques in particular have not really kept up with the times. There are several action scenes in which witches fly over broomsticks, for example, where I just said "Oops". There are also quite a few ugly filmed parts in terms of color use. Certainly the forests are somewhat neglected. That is strange, because the village itself is overflowing with atmosphere.

Furthermore, Wirkola knows what he is doing, and that is entertainment. Lots of action, sometimes nice and bloody and the weapons of the hunting duo regularly manage to stand out positively. It's nice that this film doesn't really hold back in that area, although it soon becomes clear that the red line between chasing witches is given more priority. Still, the scenes in which the witches themselves are tackled are much more fun.

It's a shame that Wirkola doesn't quite get the visual aspect right, because otherwise this is a nice and especially nice and clunky portion in terms of entertainment. It's not special, far from exciting, but it's nice to see these kinds of films. I think they chose the title in combination with a budget of 50 million cleverly.
