Undoubtedly, the biggest conspiracy theory concerning Harry Potter is that the entire story takes place in the mind of Harry while he lives in the cupboard under the stairs in the house of the Dursley Family.

After being orphaned following the death of his parents, he moves in with his Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon and his cousin Dudley.

There, he is treated like an outsider, a second-class citizen. He is only given clothes once Dudley is too big for them, is often given scraps off the table and, of course, is made to sleep in a broom cupboard.

His life is not a happy one, so it would make sense for an 11-year-old to create a fantasy world in their mind to try and escape their own dull reality.

Fans have speculated that Harry either dreamt the entire wizarding world, or created the world in his mind as a form of escape.

There are, of course, elements of the plot that support this theory due to the magical world Harry finds himself in. Crucially, the first time we see Harry as an 11-year-old in The Philosopher's Stone, he is seen sleeping.

In a new viral video from Daily Harry Potter, the Twitter page speculated how the movie series would have ended if it was all a dream. At the conclusion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Harry snaps The Elder Wand, believing it to hold too much power for any individual to wield.

In the recut version, we quickly flashback to Harry waking up at the start of the first movie, as if everything that came before was a dream.
