2025 Oscar Odds - Which movie will win Best Picture?

The 2025 Academy Awards will take place on 2 March at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The Oscars ceremony is dedicated to celebrating the best of film each year whether it be from an artistic or technical point of view. It is generally considered to be the most prestigious movie award ceremony in the world and has been running since the first ceremony took place at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 1929.

The most coveted awards are for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director though each of the 23 awards given on the night comes with its own degree of prestige.

Each category winner is awarded a copy of a golden statuette as a trophy, officially called the 'Academy Award of Merit' though it is colloquially known now as simply an 'Oscar'

With regards to the Best Picture award, there is one major front-runner, according to betting website OddsChecker.

Bradley Corbet's epic drama The Brutalist is the favourite to win Best Picture at the Oscars.

'Escaping postwar Europe, a visionary architect comes to America to rebuild his life, his career, and his marriage. On his own in a strange new country, he settles in Pennsylvania, where a wealthy and prominent industrialist recognises his talent.'

Anora is a romantic-comedy drama produced, written, directed, and edited by Sean Baker.

A Complete Unknown is a biographical musical drama film directed by James Mangold, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jay Cock. It is based on the life and works of Bob Dylan.

Wicked is a musical fantasy film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox. It is set in the world of Wizard of Oz an is based on the hugely popular musical of the same name.

The three remaining movies nominated for Best Picture are I'm Still Here, Nickel Boys and Dune: Part Two, all of which are around 50-1 to claim the honour.
